Writer / Director / Production Designer / Intimacy Coordinator
Teja Rose is a writer/filmmaker based in Brooklyn, New York and Los Angeles, CA. She’s a graduate of NYU Tisch School of the Arts where she received a BFA in Film and Television Production and a minor in Gender and Sexuality Studies (2020). Teja’s work often falls within the genres of horror and psychological drama, with a focus on women’s perspectives. She is inspired and empowered by what scares her (puppets, spiders, change, Tinder, dying, etc.).
Teja has built up extensive set experience through her freelance work as a director, producer, assistant director, production designer, actor and intimacy coordinator (which she is currently pursuing certification for at the IDC). She has also worked as a production assistant for Netflix and CBS. Her short film “"Tea Parties are for Babies!" (Writer, Director, Editor and Producer) had a festival run premiering at the Final Girls Berlin Film Festival in February 2020 where she was also featured as a guest speaker on the "Women in Horror" discussion panel. Press for the film is featured in publications such as HorrorBuzz.com , Morbidly Beautiful, Scared Sheepless, Nightmarish Conjurings, and Ghouls Magazine.
Teja primarily works as a freelance writer and writer’s assistant; her heart is in the development process and she is happiest when collaborating with like-minded artists to elevate stories to their maximum potential. She is currently working on her own portfolio, which contains two feature-length, coming-of-age horror screenplays.
